fave reads of 2011 (so far) ...

it's already (nearly) half-way through the year (!)

and i am SUCH a huge fan of lists so i have created a kind of book blogger sharing-the-awesome book awards to celebrate all the cool stuff i've read so far this year. (which is just a fun-funky style book awards/survey thingy). i will be running it over three posts* staggered throughout the last week of june. (day one beginning this friday)

* it was going to one mega post ~ but i completely got carried away in my categories, haha, so i have broken it up over three posts

i would SERIOUSLY love it if any of you guys want to join in and post your own awards on your blogs ~ you don't have to do all three days or even have a nomination for each category (you can make it suit you). you can also chop it around and squish it all into one post if you like. if anyone does join in make sure to link so i don't miss your posts.

there's no hard-core rules about it BUT answers can only come from books you've read this year (doesn't matter when they were published).

you can nominate more than one book/character for each answer and re-feature the same book in different categories. (or make your own rules about it. whatever works.) i have chosen a few of my answers already and i am very loose about it (ie: two/three books for some answers, some with runner-ups and bonus shout-outs, others with only one pick ~ trying not to angst too much about it and just have fun :D

here's my categories (and the program) in the upcoming awards:

  2. This is such a fabulous idea Nomes, and as I LOVE lists I am definitely in. I'm currently half way through The Queen's Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner and feel it may be sweeping the boards ~ the Titanic of books :D

And I love the button too, so cute.

    Right off to list make.

  3. Yep, I agree. Cute button with a stellar execution. ;)

This looks like a LOT of work. Not the actual organising all of this, but actually just thinking of what to nominate for each sub-category (especially day three - EEK)! I'll have fun looking at everyone elses' posts, but I suppose this means I'll be saving my brain some perma-damage and sticking this one out.

  4. I'll harp on the button's cuteness, too - YEAH, CUTE!

This is very cool, and I love your categories. I'm not sure I can do this, because I have tests lined up this last week :(
But I'll definitely be dropping by to take a look at yours :)

  5. I love the button! And I can't wait to see your lists! So, I can find some awesome books and add them to my to-read list. :D
But I probably won't join cause I have only read a few books this year. I'll join next time, maybe at the end of this year, if you are still holding this.
